Nursing & Personal Care Recruitment

Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Workers — Across All Settings

Australia faces a projected nursing shortfall of 85,000+ by 2030. In residential aged care, the 24/7 RN mandate and 215 care-minutes-per-resident-per-day requirement have structurally increased demand — and made reliability non-negotiable.

Medcare by Caretakers Australia places RNs, ENs, and PCWs in aged care, hospitals, general practices, and community health settings. We recruit for the shift — and for the long term.

Roles we place

Registered Nurses (RN)

  • Residential aged care — 24/7 RN mandate compliant
  • Hospital — general ward, subacute, community
  • General practice — treatment room and chronic disease management
  • Community health and NDIS (transitioning)

Enrolled Nurses (EN)

  • Aged care support and supervision roles
  • Hospital ward support
  • General practice assistance

Personal Care Workers (PCW / AIN)

  • Residential and home-based aged care
  • NDIS support (transitioning)
  • Respite care

Care Managers / DON Support

  • Acting DON and Care Coordinator roles during planned or unplanned leave
  • Available on request for larger aged care providers

Aged care: staffing that meets the mandate

Since April 2026, every residential aged care facility must deliver 215 care minutes per resident per day, including 44 minutes from a Registered Nurse. A 24/7 RN must be on-site at all times. Non-compliance triggers ACQSC investigation and potential funding clawbacks.

Every RN we place in aged care holds:

  • Current AHPRA registration (nursing) — no conditions
  • Aged care-specific background check (NDIS Worker Check or equivalent)
  • Medication competency verification where applicable
  • Current CPR and first aid

We don't fill gaps with whoever is available. We fill them with aged care-credentialed nurses who know the environment.
