Nursing demand in Australia is at its highest point in a generation. The 24/7 RN mandate in aged care, chronic hospital staffing pressures, and the gap created by COVID-era attrition means qualified nurses have real choice in where they work and what they earn.
We recruit Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, and Personal Care Workers for aged care, hospitals, general practices, and community health. Agency shifts and permanent roles. We talk to you as a professional — about rates, conditions, and what suits your career stage.
Agency nursing — what to expect
Agency nursing through Medcare by Caretakers Australia means:
Tell us when you're available and what shifts you'll take. We match, we don't pressure.
We don't do vague "competitive" rates. Before you agree to a shift, you know what it pays.
We handle the credentialing paperwork, background checks, and facility requirements. You show up ready to work.
We brief you on the facility, the ward, and any site-specific requirements before your first shift there.
Aged care nursing — what we need
The 24/7 RN mandate makes aged care a high-demand, consistent work environment. If you're an RN looking for reliable agency work, aged care shifts are often the most available.
To work in aged care through us, you need:
- Current AHPRA registration (nursing) — no conditions
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or equivalent state check
- Aged care experience (minimum 6 months preferred)
- Medication administration competency
- Current first aid and CPR
If you're an experienced RN looking to transition into aged care from hospital or community settings, talk to us — we can discuss what's available and what facilities look for.
NDIS worker? Aged care may be your next move.
NDIS reform from July 2026 is reducing hours and roles across the disability sector. If you hold a Certificate III in Individual Support and care experience, you may be eligible for aged care PCW roles now.
We're building a structured transition programme in partnership with training providers to help NDIS workers move into aged care roles. Contact us to find out if you qualify and what's involved.
