Close to Melbourne but with a country feel, Sundowner Caravan Park Rockbank is only 30km from the CBD and boasts beautifully maintained gardens, a sparkling pool and a peaceful atmosphere.  An opportunity has arisen as the current management couple are retiring after an enjoyable ten years at the park. Together with the friendly and supportive Operations Manager, they have succeeded in creating a welcoming, village-like atmosphere for the permanent residents who live onsite and a friendly, customer focused experience for tourists.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will enjoy utilising your skills to oversee the management of the park ensuring a strong customer focus is maintained by staff at all times.

This is a “hands-on” role. Duties include:

  • Front office management (experience with RMS highly desirable)
  • Staff management, including training of staff as required
  • Park maintenance and grounds work, ensuring the park is presented to a high standard
  • Respond to after hours emergency calls
  • Ordering stock and inventory control
  • Oversee and supervise contractors
  • Contribute to the park’s upgrade planning and implementation process

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working as park managers or assistant managers
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • A hands-on proactive approach
  • Knowledge of VCAT advantageous
  • Excellent handyman / maintenance skills, including ability to assist with rebuilding and renovations of old caravans and cabins
  • Computer literacy including knowledge of RMS (or similar) booking system
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays

In return you will be supported by housekeepers, a gardener and an office assistant plus a grounds assistant who works on your days off.

The successful couple will be rewarded with:

  • An attractive salary of $131,000 per annum plus superannuation and accommodation in a 3 bedroom residence plus utilities (total package worth over $165,000 per annum per couple)
  • Work to a roster of 10 days on / 4 days off
