Set on the beautiful Hastings River in Port Macquarie, our client’s boutique motel and caravan park boasts stunning water views from every angle, even from the office! Port Macquarie, located on the mid north coast of NSW, is known for its spectacular beaches, wildlife and idyllic climate as well as for its relaxed lifestyle and welcoming community.
We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced couple to take the reins as Managers of this popular accommodation complex which consists of a 22 room motel and caravan park (currently closed for redevelopment).
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Secretary, you’ll be hands-on in keeping everything running smoothly. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the motel and park
- Managing bookings, administration, and bookkeeping
- Keeping an eye on budgets and finding smart ways to improve efficiency
- Leading and supporting your housekeeping and grounds team
- Recruiting and training staff
- Taking care of WHS and risk management (keeping the site safe and compliant)
- Liaising with long-term residents
- Coordinating maintenance, repairs, and contractors
- Pitching in with cleaning or other duties as needed
About You
You’re a friendly, capable, and down-to-earth couple who know what it takes to run a successful motel or caravan park. You take pride in your work, enjoy meeting people, and love the satisfaction of keeping things running like clockwork. You’ll bring:
- Solid experience managing a motel or caravan park (both is a bonus!)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Great problem-solving ability and initiative
- Flexibility and adaptability, given the ongoing changes to the caravan park
- Computer skills, ideally with RMS booking system experience and basic bookkeeping knowledge
- A current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to get one)
- A WHS certificate (or willingness to complete training)
