Overview

Located on the far south-west coast of Victoria, Portland Tourist Park is set on 5 hectares of natural landscape and a few minutes drive from the centre of town. It offers a range of accommodation, from modern self-contained cabins and ensuite van sites to camping.  A dedicated over-55’s permanent living section has just been completed with more new homes on the way.

Surrounded by a large farming community, Portland is a historic location, settled in 1834.  The township overlooks a grassy foreshore on Portland Harbour, is a business destination and a magnet for tourists.

Attractive beaches, coastal walks, fishing spots, State forests and wildlife abound.  Everything needed for an enjoyable lifestyle.

The Park is park of an asset management company focussed on acquiring property in the affordable accommodation sector.  Currently it owns 11 parks in Victoria and seeks to offer a great work culture and an environment that attracts and retains excellent team members. It cares about what it does and takes pride in the outcomes.

The Role

Working alongside the Park Managers as part of the overall business management team, key responsibilities for the couple include:

  • Front office duties including answering telephone enquiries, making bookings, check-in and check-out of customers, debtor management and general administration duties
  • Provide an excellent guest  and resident experience including friendly and courteous customer service
  • General maintenance of facilities, infrastructure, equipment (including tools and vehicles) and buildings
  • Grounds care including lawn mowing, irrigating, weeding, tree pruning, tidying rubbish
  • As in most accommodation management roles and when required, assist with cleaning of amenities, communal areas and accommodation units to a high standard
  • Managing the park when the park managers are on leave or on days off
  • Share after hours on-call duties with park managers
  • Assist the park managers in achieving financial targets
  • Ensure a strong safety culture

About You

  • Experience working as Assistant Managers or All-Rounders in an accommodation environment.
  • Passionate about customer service, friendly disposition,  problem-solving ability, diplomacy and enthusiasm are highly regarded attributes.
  • Enjoy a challenge, solving a problem, using initiative and having an enthusiastic attitude towards work.
  • An understanding of financial management and sales experience will be a bonus. And knowledge of RMS reservation system would be ideal.

Highly regarded qualifications:

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • WHS White Card
  • Fire warden and fire extinguisher trained
  • WWCC
